Write pages in Markdown

A page is a Markdown file in a repo's .context/. Canon renders it and exports it back as Markdown.

Where a page goes

The folder says what a page is:

Folder Kind
.context/ideas/ Idea
.context/features/ PRD (an RFC with type: rfc)
.context/wiki/decisions/ ADR
.context/wiki/findings/ Finding
.context/wiki/meetings/ Meeting notes
.context/wiki/entities/, concepts/, surfaces/, synthesis/ Knowledge

A kind: line in the frontmatter overrides the folder.

Frontmatter

The first lines say what the page is. status sets the pill; last-verified decides when a page turns stale (after 21 days).

id: FEAT-0004
status: building
owner: "@someone"
ideas: [IDEA-0011]
release: 2.0.0
last-verified: 2026-10-25
---

An ADR's own ## Decision section is shown boxed at the top of the page.

Write [[file-name]], [[ID]] or [[Title]]. Canon looks in the same space first, then everywhere. A link that finds no page shows as plain text, and the page it points to lists every page that links to it.
